VOCAB TEST
Well, in the mist of study for the vocab test and researching for biography. I found time to Blog :' But there is really nothing exciting to write about. I read an address the gave on the behalf Mexico. I was slightly disconcerted about the fact that his speech was so recondite that it took me a few read to understand it. I am going to still stick with Jaime.

Confusion? I think not
What if i wrote and entire blog in WEBDINGS? That would be funny !!!!
So any way nothing special happen to day with researching the project in class *tear* and Ms. Voss' lack of presence was remembered *sob**sniff*
But on a lighter note, contrary to popular belif I have found and Bio on my author and one of his speeches. Theses are both print sources. I do think that Im going to have to use more than the two poems that I originally was going to do. My focus right now is to begin to form and strengthen a thesis, but I'm still wondering would i get "in trouble"if i decided to write a whole blog in Webdings? The world may never know
HA!!!

Jamie of Jaime is there a difference? Unfortunately there is.
Funny story. Well the Spanish name for Jamie is Jaime (pronounced hi may) and knowing that small fact about the name I didn’t feel the need to look on the paper for the “correct” spelling. So, as a result I spend the majority of my time searching for Jamie Torres Bodet instead of Jaime Torres Bodet. By the end of class I realized my folly and have found the information that I needed. Now all is well with the author situation.
I think that I explained choosing my authors in the first blog so I could repeat myself again but that is no fun.
Long story short:
Ø I found a Latin American Lit. Book
Ø Looked through the index at titles
Ø Choose the most interesting titled poems
Ø Read them
Ø And choose the author whose work I liked the most
Ø Checked availability of information on the author
Ø Finalized my author
Now I need to do more research, and begin to form my thesis for the paper. The most challenging thing for me will be finding informational sites that are low on bias, because some of his literature has been attacked because of his political stance. This’ll be fun.
ooooo what does this say ?????
Hopefully my author.

Backgrounds? how do ya change 'em
Another riveting presentation from Ms. Voss showed us the importance of websites and making sure that the site and the information on the site is valid. In my attempt to complete this assignment I spend two to two and a half hours trying to long on to Beta Blogger, which didn’t work out that well, in the beginning. Out of anger and frustration I began to search for my author. Knowing that Google often has some unreliable sources I went straight to the browser to see what I could see. I’m sure that it would be less of a challenge than it seemed. Noticing that a few of the sites were references to research papers and some just connected me to other site that you had to also search in, I decided to try Gale Groups Literary Resource Center. This however was not very successful, so I decide to try my Google search again and I found a site!
This is actually an article that is connected to a web site. The site is Project Muse Scholarly journals online. Essential it is online access to the Muse journals that are also published in print.
Article Website
Author: Rubén Gallo –Princeton University / The Johns Hopkins University Press in collaboration with The Milton S. Eisenhower Library
Audience: Consumers, Professors, Adults, college adults
Scholarship: both the site and article are copy written and there is also a partner ship with JSTOR which is
one of our “reliable sources”
Bias: The tone is more “matter of fact” and is presenting information / NONE
Currency: They have a staff of editors and the Muse is published online and in journals
Links: all fine and up to date
Final Assessment: Yes I would, there are a lot more current articles and they all are valid and scholarly.

Must We Have Titles ?: )
Our first day researching for the Final Project.
Ms. Voss re-emphasized the value of print sources, where, and how to search, ect. When we were finally let go we were able use the informaion to explore and begin investigating. The two things that I investigated was what genre I wanted to use and what authors had the genre that I wanted. I found and anthology that had a compilation of authors. After reading some of the author’s poems, which i choose by what titles I liked best or found most interesting, I think that I may have settled on an author. Jamie Torres Bodet. Two other author that I looked at were Regino Pedroso and Vincente Huidobro
Ø Jamie- Describes two things that in many cultures are hard to describe but he explains them quite clearly and poetically.“Dance”113-115 “Love”115-117
Ø Vincente – I liked one of the poems that he wrote. “The Art of Poetry” 377
Ø Regino Pedroso- He just had some interesting titles.
